The annual general meeting of the Förderkreis der Stiftung Deutsch-Nordische Burse e. V. will take place on 9 June 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Deutsch-Nordische Burse. Traditionally, we combine the general meeting with a lecture event, which will begin at 7:00 p.m. This time, we have been able to secure Prof. Dr. Stephan Juricke from the GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research, a recognized climate expert, as our speaker.
The GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre is the heart of German marine research. It makes a significant contribution to communicating knowledge about the role of the oceans in the climate system, biodiversity, and biogeochemical cycles - extending to the possibilities of making the ocean, through sustainable use, an ally in the fight against long-term climate change.
Prof. Dr. Stephan Juricke has held the professorship for Theoretical Oceanography in Kiel since 2023. His work focuses primarily on improving the understanding and prediction of future ocean circulations, as well as the future climate of our planet.
