History

​Through the initiative of the former home manager and CEO Dr. Willi Nielsen the "Förderkreis der Stiftung Deutsch-Nordische Burse e. V. " was founded October 27, 1979. The purpose of the association is the ideal and material support of the Stiftung Deutsch-Nordische Burse. The honorary board and the 200 members have been working exemplary for this goal for over 40 years. Through their membership fees or donations, they provide the annual financial means that are used for improvement measures in the Burse or for complementary student activities. The funding ideas always come from the Bursians, who determine the need, present the proposals and discuss the financial framework and the concrete implementation steps with the funding committee.
